In a startling turn of events, a theft has been reported from the residence of Kannada actor Darshan and his wife, Vijayalakshmi, while the actor is currently in judicial custody in connection with a murder case. According to a complaint filed by Vijayalakshmi’s house manager, over Rs 3 lakh in cash was discovered missing from the house.
The theft, which is suspected to be the work of an insider, allegedly took place between September 4 and September 8. The residence, located in Prestige South Ridge Apartments in Hosakerehalli, was under the care of the house staff while Vijayalakshmi was away in Mysuru.
The incident came to light when Vijayalakshmi, upon her return on September 8, checked the wardrobe in her bedroom and found that the cash, amounting to more than Rs 3 lakh, was no longer there. Following a thorough search of the house and questioning of the domestic staff, a formal complaint was lodged with the police.
Police have registered a case under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (theft by clerk or servant). An investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend the culprit. The incident has added another layer of complexity to the already high-profile case involving the actor, leaving many to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the theft and the identity of the perpetrator.
