The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in Mumbai (City and Suburbs) on August 19. This includes government, private, and municipal institutions.

University Exams Postponed
Mumbai University postponed all exams scheduled for August 19 to August 23, citing unsafe travel conditions due to flooding and traffic disruptions.

Several areas across Mumbai reported severe waterlogging, including:

- Sion’s Gandhi Market
The Andheri subway was shut down after nearly 1.5 feet of water flooded the passage.

IndiGo Airlines issued a travel advisory warning of delays in departures and arrivals due to waterlogged roads leading to the airport. Passengers are advised to check flight status and allow extra travel time.
