The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for Karnataka, predicting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across coastal districts and Bengaluru over the next five days, from September 1 to September 5, 2025.
Red & Orange Alerts Issued
- Red Alert: Coastal districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada are expected to receive extremely heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong surface winds.
- Orange Alert: Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and parts of South Interior Karnataka are under an orange alert, with forecasts of moderate to heavy showers, gusty winds, and possible waterlogging.

Residents of Bengaluru can expect:
- Light to moderate rain with evening thundershowers
- Temperatures ranging between 21°C and 29°C
- Traffic disruptions, tree falls, and localized flooding in low-lying areas
