In a brazen act that has sent shockwaves through the community, a jewellery store in Ghaziabad was robbed by two individuals disguised as delivery partners, wearing uniforms from popular services like Blinkit and Swiggy. The audacious daylight robbery, captured entirely on the store’s CCTV cameras, highlights a new level of deceptive tactics employed by criminals.
The incident unfolded when only one employee, Shubham, was present at the store, as the owner, Krishna Kumar Verma, had stepped out for lunch. The CCTV footage clearly shows the two masked thieves, sporting the familiar delivery uniforms, entering the shop. They swiftly proceeded to clear out jewellery and other valuables, stuffing them into a bag, before making a quick escape on a motorcycle. The entire heist reportedly lasted approximately six minutes.
Upon discovering the robbery, Shubham immediately alerted Verma, who then informed the police. Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the matter. According to Trans Hindon DCP Nimish Patil, the thieves, who were armed, robbed an estimated 20 kg of silver and 25 grams of gold at gunpoint. Six special teams have been formed to track down the culprits.
Adding another layer to the investigation, ACP of Sahibabad, Shweta Yadav, stated that police are also looking into the possible involvement of the employee who was present during the robbery. This aspect of the investigation aims to determine if there was any insider complicity in the crime.
This incident serves as a stark reminder for businesses to enhance their security measures and for the public to remain vigilant, as criminals adapt their methods to exploit everyday services. The police continue their efforts to apprehend the disguised robbers and recover the stolen valuables.
