Two schools in Delhi’s Karol Bagh and Malviya Nagar neighborhoods were evacuated early Wednesday morning after receiving bomb threats via email. The alarming messages prompted swift action from authorities, with fire services, police, and bomb disposal squads deployed to both locations.
Schools Targeted
- Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Malviya Nagar
- Andhra School, Prasad Nagar (Karol Bagh vicinity)
The threats were received around 7:40 AM and 7:42 AM respectively, triggering immediate lockdowns and thorough searches of the premises.
Threat Details
The emails, allegedly sent by a group calling itself “Terrorisers 111 Group,” demanded a $5,000 cryptocurrency payment and claimed to have planted explosive devices on school grounds. The group also claimed to have hacked school surveillance systems and databases.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are treating the threats with utmost seriousness, especially in light of similar hoaxes targeting over 30 Delhi schools just two days earlier. While those incidents turned out to be false alarms, officials are not taking any chances this time.
Community Response
Parents and staff gathered anxiously outside the schools as security teams conducted sweeps. No explosives have been found so far, but investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the emails and assess the credibility of the threats.
