Actress Ruchi Gujjar has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against producer Karan Singh Chauhan, accusing him of fraud, criminal breach of trust, and intimidation in a financial dispute totaling Rs 24 lakh. The FIR was lodged at the Oshiwara police station on July 24, 2025.

The dispute centers on the co-production of a Hindi television serial. Gujjar claims she transferred Rs 24 lakh from her company, SR Event and Entertainment, to Karan Singh Chauhan’s firm, K Studios, and other associated accounts between July 2023 and January 2024.

Gujjar alleges that Chauhan initially contacted her via WhatsApp, introducing himself as the producer of a Hindi serial slated to air on Sony TV. She stated, “He offered to add me as a co-producer and also sent documents related to the project.” Trusting his claims, she proceeded to transfer the money in multiple installments.

However, Gujjar informed the police that no work ever commenced on the television serial. “Despite repeated contacts, he kept postponing them and lied,” she said. She further alleged that instead of utilizing the funds for the serial, Chauhan diverted the money to a film titled So Long Valley.

“When I got the information that the film is releasing on July 27, I told him to return my money now, on which he started threatening me,” Gujjar stated in her complaint. The police have registered a case under sections 318(4), 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The actress has reportedly provided detailed records of the financial transactions, including account numbers and documents, in the FIR. The Mumbai Police have initiated an investigation and are currently examining banking transactions, call records, and other relevant evidence.

Ruchi Gujjar had previously gained media attention for her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, where she wore a necklace featuring a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
