Mahindra has launched its highly anticipated electric SUV, the BE 6e, in India, priced at ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This vehicle is part of Mahindra’s Born Electric sub-brand, highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility. Built on the innovative INGLO EV platform, the BE 6e offers impressive efficiency and range options, making it a significant player in the electric vehicle market.
The BE 6e comes with two battery pack options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. These options provide a remarkable range of up to 682 km on a single charge. The 59 kWh variant delivers a power output of 231 hp/380 Nm, while the 79 kWh variant offers 286 hp/380 Nm. This makes the BE 6e not only efficient but also powerful, catering to a wide range of driving needs.
In terms of design, the BE 6e stands out with its bold, modern look. It features sharp lines, prominent wheel arches, and angled headlights with inverted L-shaped DRLs. The functional hood scoop and illuminated BE logo add to its sporty appeal. Inside, the SUV boasts a futuristic cockpit with a two-spoke steering wheel, twin screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster, and innovative front seats with pillar-mounted headrests.
Mahindra has equipped the BE 6e with cutting-edge safety features and advanced ride dynamics. One of the key highlights is its ultra-fast charging capability, which allows the SUV to go from 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes. This feature addresses range anxiety, a common concern among potential electric vehicle buyers. The BE 6e is expected to begin deliveries by the end of February 2025 or early March 2025, making it an eagerly awaited addition to the market.
With the launch of the BE 6e, Mahindra aims to redefine electric mobility in India. The SUV combines performance, luxury, and sustainability, setting a new standard for electric vehicles. Competing with other electric SUVs like the Tata Curvv and MG ZS EV, the BE 6e promises to be a game-changer in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle segment in India.
